need a new watch...
I've been needing a new watch for quite a while now. Like for the past three years. I think it is time I start seriously looking for a watch that will last me the rest of my life. Like one that will be timeless. Pun intended. Here are some of the styles I am considering. Obviously some of these watches are not in my price range (helllooo Tiffany & co)!
1. Tiffany & Co. Atlas dome watch. 2. Fossil rectangular ceramic watch. 3. Fossil Stella watch. 4. Michael Kors Stainless steel chronograph watch. 5. Michael Kors ceramic chronograph watch. 6. Michael Kors tortoise chronograph watch.
I'm thinking something like the Michael Kors gold-tone watch (#4) would be best for an investment piece. I think it will always be in style. BUT I do love the Fossil rectangular ceramic watch (#2) for the moment. And of course, if I had $9,000 to spend on a watch, I'd immediately go for #1 because it is just beautiful! For now though, I'm going to keep looking (and saving!)...I don't want to make a decision too hastily. Any suggestions for a timeless timepiece? What style do you see lasting forever??

eastern market
Yesterday was my second trip to the eastern market. It was a beautiful day in dc. I am seriously loving this weather!! I got a late start to my day, but the market was still enjoyable. Annnd I didn't feel like standing in the line for Market Lunch (though I really wanted a crabcake sandwich!) so ended up eating a bagel at Port City Java. I know. Insert comments about my lameness here. But I was really hungry and my 2 hour parking time was running out...
Anyway, I did end up finding these cool vintage earrings (which I am obsessed with!):
as well as some greeting cards (like I need more):
I hope everyone else had a lovely Saturday!

PS -
isn't this the cutest little spot for a nice cup of coffee with a friend?
living room style board
Today I created my first style board for my living room. Here it is:
(all pieces from ikea, west elm, target, joss and main, cb2, pottery barn, and restoration hardware.)
Since I'm still learning how to use my mac, I ended up saving all the images, putting them together in word, taking a screen shot, cropping the screen shot, and saving. Nuts. I know there has got to be an easier way to do this. I downloaded gimp but am still trying to figure that out too.
Anyway, I think I did a pretty good job considering all the crap I went through! Some of the things I already have in my apartment - the tv/tv stand, the white bookshelf, and a similar blue lamp - but the rest is stuff I'd like to someday decorate with. Especially the karlsdad couch(es) from ikea. Love the modern feel to them. Oh and the amazing peekaboo coffee table from CB2. Want it.

life in alexandria
I am completely loving my stay up in alexandria. Though the weather was quite hot the first couple of days (and spurred several shopping trips for airy, light clothes), it has definitely cooled down. The past couple of days this week have been absolutely GORGEOUS. Love it. Yesterday, I went into dc to meet Lindsey for dinner - and I took a couple of pics on the way in on my phone:
The pics turned out much better than expected. Sometimes I don't think I give my iphone enough credit - I thought they'd be horrible. Guess I need to start taking more! Last night, it rained briefly, but then turned out to be a lovely evening in georgetown! I seriously want to live in georgetown. Love it!!
