We have experienced a littttle dip in the insanely hot Charleston weather recently, and I am loving it.  It is putting me in the mood for fall, red cups at Starbucks, shopping, and of course getting to wear fall clothes!

I am loving the pops of color for fall.  Jcrew has some great pieces - and I am coveting these lovely wool cafe capris in the bright dahlia color.  Unfortunately, the site says they won't be available to ship til 1.16.2011 :( boo.  Still love them, though!

crewcuts picks. for myself.

I'm so amazed with kids' clothes these days.  Especially crewcuts.  I wish my parents had dressed me this cute.  I'm pretty sure they dressed me up as a boy mostly.  And I didn't have any hair til I was like two years old, so I'm sure that didn't help either.  I digress.  I've always loved crewcuts accessories for myself. Girls' headbands are especially cute and fabulous because they are always a little over-the-top.  Which I like.  Crewcuts goes up to a kids' size 14, so some things I can still fit into.  (Yay)  Here are some of my fave picks from the girls (and boys!) section!  Love those tutus!  Very Carrie Bradshaw.

A lot of these items are essentials.  But I'm still working on building my wardrobe.  I especially love the chunky gold bracelet.  I don't wear bracelets very often, but would like to start wearing more of them.  

Speaking of essentials, I love Nina Garcia's book The One Hundred.  It is a guide to the 100 basic pieces of clothing/accessories every woman should own {such as: black cashmere turtleneck, Missoni knit, LBD, lingere, animal print, a Pucci piece, converse all stars}.  I've got a list saved in my phone of some of the essentials I still need.  That way, when I go shopping I can {hopefully} stay on track and purchase things that will build my wardrobe.
